While brainstorming here in the corporate offices of Finishlinewest we were reminiscing about the good old days when we were cranking out Quakes like they were going out of style (eventually they did) and we thought "hey, ya know what?, we never built a PreRunner Quake.  The boss is really into PreRunners and when we asked why he never had one built for himself he mumbled something about being out of Monster and we should all get back to work.

That quasi-conversation got us thinking (something we shouldn't do without proper supervision) and an executive decision was made without the executive around, we should get our hands on a 2WD Expedition and build the boss a Quake PreRunner.  With that kind of ass kissing we should be able to keep our jobs through the summer.

So with all this in mind we procured a 98 2WD Expedition that was in great shape and started to make a list of what goes into making a bitchin vehicle for the boss.

Our first phone call was to Vortech so we could order up a helping of "fast", our Expy is a 4.6 version so we will pulling out all the stops so we can build something the boss wont bitch about.

We have to figure out what to do with the suspension, how hardcore are we going to go?  basic lift?  long travel?  what size tires are we going to accommodate?  All these questions will be answered as we go along.  We'll be talking to the suspension experts and reporting back on what works best for our application.  We will also be amassing a comprehensive list of lift kits for the Expy so you can decide what is best for your application and what it will all cost.

We will be installing a fiberglass front end, building a front bumper, installing some high power lights, an audio/video entertainment system (the boss loves porn) and then we will top it all off with new paint and graphics.

Here is the build list:

  • Supercharger

  • Headers

  • Cat-Back Exhaust

  • Suspension

  • TOYO Tires/TrailReady Beadlock Wheels

  • Audio/Video

  • Fabricate Bumpers

  • Fiberglass Fenders and Hood

  • Upgrade the electrical system

  • Paint and Bodywork

  • Graphics

  • New Carpet

  • Freshen up the interior

Now for the real fun, we are going to film the build and post the videos here for you to watch so when the time comes you can build your very own PreRunner in your driveway.

Stay tuned, the fun starts soon.

Use without permission really pisses us off and causes us to call our lawyers.  If you want to use pictures or likeness' of our vehicles all ya gotta do is ask and let us know where to find it.  We're really a pretty easy going bunch of people but we spend a lot of money on our vehicles and ideas and our attorneys tell us stuff like that is against the law allowing us to sue you for lots of money...yadda, yadda, yadda.  Is this a great country or what?
